Sandwich Youth Lacrosse will follow all state, local health, and CDC guidelines for compliance to ensure the safety of all participants.
Pre-practice and Game Screening
Players, coaches, officials, and spectators may not attend practices or games if they are isolated for illness or quarantined for exposure to infection.
Prior to attending practices or games check for normal temperature before going:
100.4 or higher please stay home.
Players and coaches should not attend practices or games if they have any other symptoms of Covid-19 infection in the past 14 days or have been exposed to someone who has been ill in the last 14 days.
Upon arrival, the coach will ask each athlete if they are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19. If yes, they will be sent home and will need a written clearance from their healthcare provider to return to play.
Practice and Game Protocols
Masks are not required for youth aged 18 years and under when outdoors and engaged in sports.
For coaches/volunteers/officials, masks are not required where social distancing can be consistently maintained. Examples of situations where masks would be required: close group huddles, draw controls, face offs or attending to an injury.
Social Distancing: We ask that spectators continue to practice social distancing and accept personal responsibility for public health guidelines. The number of spectators is determined in compliance with Mass EEA and local board of health guidelines.
Sportsmanship should continue in a touchless manner – no handshakes, fist bumps or group celebrations allowed during or after play.
Hand sanitizer, facial tissues, and facial coverings will be readily available for anyone who needs it.
A record will be kept of all individuals present at team activities, including but not limited to practices and competitions.
Equipment, Facilities & Personal Items
Participants should use their own equipment, if any equipment is shared (ex. Goalie equipment), the equipment must be cleaned and disinfected prior to the next players use.
Participants are required to have their own water bottle, towel, and personal hygiene products. Personal items should remain in the players' own bags.
Organizers and Mitigation of Covid-19 Spread
An SYL COVID-19 safety officer has been assigned, Jessica Kiablick (
) and will communicate policies organization-wide to coaches, parents, and players.
If a team member or coach contracts COVID-19 or has come into close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with the virus, please contact Jessica Kiablick as soon as possible
